The 8th International Symposium –LABORATORIES FOR OIL AND PETROL PRODUCTS was hosted by JUGOINSPEKT BEOGRAD on May 16th –17th 2019 in Hotel Majestic, Belgrade, Republic of Serbia.

This annual meeting gathered over 70 participants from  9 countries. Professionals from 34 distinguished organizations, including testing laboratories, conformity assessment bodies, public authorities, officials and representatives of laboratory equipment manufacturers have presented, discussed and exchanged  knowledge and experiences in various fields that concern testing laboratories and their engagement and  role in current local and global economy, technology and quality infrastructure, education and  training etc. This year’s symposium has also introduced several newcomers and first time attendees:

  • Control – H d.o.o. Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina
  • SiM CONTROL d.o.o. Bijeljina, Bosnia & Herzegovina
  • Biro za mere Skopje, North Macedonia
  • Donau Lab d.o.o. Belgrade, Serbia
  • Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia (AERS)

Subjects varied from strictly technical such as determination of measurement uncertainties within standardized test methods to more general ones such are waste management in laboratories and steps for ensuring the validity of test results. Special attention had been given to the latest version of EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard as well as transition process from old to current version of the aforementioned standard.

Starting this year, form of the symposium has been changed and it is now a biennial event. Next iteration of the symposium will be held in Varna, Bulgaria in 2021.
